Wow I just realized you have this gallery here! A beautiful collection of your works!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie. I need to sit down one day and do this properly. I saw on another blog a much more effective way of displaying art. It's just finding the time (and the motivation!)
DeleteI enjoy your work on our Facebook group and the nice story's, tales and explanations of your blog. For me you are much more than a fantastic botanical artist, and I do hope to see your magnificent paintings in real life!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your inspiration!
Big hugs XXX
Thank you, Maria. That's s lovely thing to say! We'll meet soon
DeleteTrès jolie travail! agréable à voir et original!! j'aime beaucoup!

Is any of your work available for purchase in the form of giclee prints? If so, should I contact you directly for prices and purchase, or do you have a gallery that handles your work? Thank you - everything you do is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDeborah, thank you for the nice words. I do have limited edition giclee prints available. You can contact me here (message me with your email address), or contact me at shevaun.doherty at gmail.com. Alternatively, if you look at my facebook page, I have an album of available prints and also cards. You can message me there if you are interested. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.839799769436590.1073741847.771155499634351&type=3
DeleteLovely work Shevaun! I am so enjoy following you and your work - a wonderful journey with a brush in hand. I look forward to 2016. All my best, Linda
ReplyDeleteLinda, that's so kind of you to comment. Thank you so much... it's lovely to get comments, but even nicer when it comes from someone whose work you admire! I hope I get to meet you this year when I'm over in the States!
DeleteYour work is absolutely beautiful! I noticed some of your paintings are on vellum. Why do you use that rather than traditional watercolor paper? I have never tried it, but your paintings turn out so lovely on it, that I would like to try it sometime.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, Jean. My apologies for the tardy reply. I prefer vellum to paper because the paint sits on the surface rather than sinking into it, as it does with paper. This gives the paint a clear crisp edge (there is a bleed with paper) and also makes transparent colours glow. I also like the mottled look of vellum which gives a nice background to botanical art. You can buy vellum directly from William Cowleys in the UK. I hope that helps!
DeleteThank you so much, Shevaun. No need to apologize. I am across the pond in the USA, but I'll check our suppliers. I would love to try this! Again, thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteOkay, then try Pergamena. Talas also have a good range but they are suppliers not producers and may be more expensive. Vellum is not cheap, but you can usually buy little sample packs. I've just written a blogpost on the different types available.
DeleteThanks again, Shevaun. I couldn't find any samples on either the Talas or Cowleys websites, but I sent a request to Cowleys to see if I can buy a sample pack.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for your help. My gosh, every time I look at your work, I am more and more impressed!
Hi Shevaun! I found you through Charlie's blog. I love your stuff! Pleased to meet you, Marina
ReplyDeleteHi Marina, Thank you so much!! I'll have to look you up too... I presume that you were doodlewashed as well? Charlie is great!
